Hey lust, an unfamiliar face.
You painted smiles on my lips,
Each time you childishly pursued me.
Hey lust, new and exciting world.
You wanted me to stay,
I stayed, and wanted you to love.
Hey lust, dangerous but inviting place.
You breathed life into my lungs,
With secret kisses undercover.
Hey lust, yearning and desire.
You left me stranded at your door,
Neither closed nor open.
Hey love, creeps in without a sound.
You quit before we started,
You blew a wick without a flame.
Hey lies, always an afterthought.
You had my fooled into believing,
You almost had me at your feet.
Hey lust, hey love, hey lies.
You took what you could,
But you'll never get what you wanted.
