Since days and nights have gone their way
Since a wind of change has carried all memories away
I took a trip to the higher spheres
And raised four walls protecting me from fears
They were my shelter and my nest,
My hideaway from the future and the past
In court of life I passed the sentence - to live alone
In this sky dungeon I called my home
Four walls were my fortress, indestructible rock
My safest protection round-the-clock
My temple of knowledge, my garden of youth
My fire of life, my harvest of truth
When I was entirely free
In silence the voice of destiny told my soul
That being a child of the universe
In this endless ocean of life I should play my role

A powerful and moving
balladic piece, Irene
...
Its metaphoric essence
explores the reality
of what it means to
be humane enough to
be called human
...
A touching exploration
of the beauty in finding
one's goal in the labyrinth
of life's unfolding breath
...
It's imagery enraptures
ones being - into realms
in new beginings - into
moonlit dusks and dawns
on bountiful village
squares of home and
inspiration...
Within this:
"Four Walls",
I behold visions of glory
and hopeful healing - a
freeing of trapped souls -
because:
"I took a trip to
the higher spheres
...
My fire of life,
my harvest of truth
When I was entirely free
I opened the door towards
my destiny
A voice of nature
I have heared in my
soul
In the moment of
truth, I've
discovered
my goal

sure being the second halp of man population, respected ladies have fully rights and have to play role as you said here in your poem.."In this endless ocean of life I should play my role" this poem is based of reality and your observation is enough rich... liked it very much
You are very talented. Excellent use of descriptive words and lots of imagery. I do love imagery in poems.
Irene,
I really enjoyed this poem. This "Four Walls", it is special! I could feel the walls around me disappear while I read your thought provoking words.
My favorite poem of all time is DESIDERATA, I quote from one line,
"You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. "
I quote what you so eloquently stated that all persons should heed,
A voice of nature I've heard in my soul
In the moment of truth I discovered my goal
Being a child of the universe
In this endless ocean of life I have to play my role
I hope you are still writing, I would like to read more of your poetry. Three poems are not enough for me.
Thank you
Dylan
