Gems of Poesy
No motor, no microscope
Can smother me with beaming hope
No bungalow, no limousine
Can ever make you cute and keen
No computer, no laser beam
Can inspire any lovely dream
Neither flower, nor butterfly
Can promise me a peaceful sky
Neither the quarks, nor the leptons
Can give you soothing solutions
No satellite, no soaring flight
Can raise us to the real height
Till on the earth, we, the mankind
Solemnly make up our mind
That we shall never make a hell
With any bomb or any shell
That we’d never shed our blood
To immerse in diabolic flood
That we will save humanity
With patience, faith and sanity
I do wish this poem could be a reality.
Can it ever happen, I honestly don't
know. We can only hope. Well written.
Iqbal, a commendable piece of writing. Yes, ideally this would be wonderful.
Well put. Nice thoughts, hopes...eloquently expressed. But are humans really strong enough to save themselves?
