One day the
world was created, it was full of beautiful vegetation with all variety of
trees and plants.  Near the main lake, there
was a farm where everyone leaved happily. Frank the dog took care of the farm
and he was the leader. He and his best friend the worm, Jim, talked and played
all day. One day Frank and Jim went outside the farm and the other animals
quickly gathered inside the barn. They were a little jealous about the
relationship between Frank and Jim, so they started to talk about them.

Why is Jim the best friend of Frank? – Said Pepe the
rooster – He is a worm, I´m more beautiful and I have so many feathers in many different
colors, I should be his best friend.

-         
I feed people with my milk - Cony the cow said – they
are happy with it, I´m more important than Jim, he doesn’t do anything good for
someone else, I should be his best friend.

-         
I’m more intelligent than Jim – Juan the fox said – we
can make a good team, I should be his best friend.

-         
Let´s ask Frank why Jim is his best friend! – Pepe
said

In a few hours
Frank and Jim arrived and all the animals asked him:

-         
Why is Jim your best friend?

-         
Yes, Why? – said Cony – we are more beautiful, useful
and intelligent than him.

-         
I don’t need neither the most beautiful animal to be
my friend nor the most useful or the most intelligent – Frank said – I just
need a good friend who can talk and play with me, and Jim is the best animal I’ve
ever met, he is a good friend and he cares about me. He is not like you, you
only care about the beauty or intelligence of someone, but that is not
everything in life. Jim accepts me because of who I am, he likes my character
and my way of being. And for your information, he is more beautiful inside than
you Pepe, more useful than you Cony and more intelligent than you Juan.

After that
conversation, Frank did not want to talk with the other animals because he
was upset of their superficial attitude. The next morning, Frank decided to go
hunting in the woods, but he told Jim to stay in the farm because it was too
risky to take Jim with him. The time passed and Frank did not arrived to the
farm at the hour he was used to finish hunting. All the animals started to ask
themselves what happened to him. But instead of going to the woods and look for
him, they spent the whole day deciding who would be the new leader. On the
other hand, Jim hopeful to find his friend began his journey to the woods. He
was going at his own pace, always with persistence and having in his mind all
the great moments he and Frank had. Suddenly he found Frank unconscious trapped
between some logs, so he quickly called for help and some animals that lived near
went and took Frank out. They both return to the farm and since that day the
other animals stopped criticizing Jim and found out that he was as valuable as
any of them, not just a simple worm.
