A Foggy Window

Verse 1 (mood 1)

A million ways to die

You picked the one that hurts the most

The one that kills you on the inside

Destroys the spirit not the host

An empty body reeks of discontent

Damaged mind with room for rent

This poor soul must be content

To finish its days with strangers

Pre-Chorus (mood 1)

Through it all I can almost comprehend

Why you would do this to yourself

Chorus

Shifty and rose-rimmed content, deliberately dismayed, disarrayed

(Eyes that smile while gleaming like glass)

Shifty (eyes) and (that) rose-rimmed (smile), content (while) deliberately (gleaming), dismayed (like) disarrayed (glass)

But can't her hurtful nature acquiesce

(I understand selfish intentions, just acquiesce)

But (I) can't (understand) her (selfish) hurtful (intentions), nature (just) [acquiesce]

Verse 2 (mood 1)

I watched you two walk on the fake marble floor

Light pouring through the numerous windows

You were sucked in, didn't get your bearings before

The light dried up, she pulled the shutters down

You were warned with plain dissent

Until my patience was spent

Now your soul must be content

To finish its days with strangers

Pre-Chorus (mood 1)

Through it all I can almost comprehend

Why you would do this to yourself

Chorus

Shifty and rose-rimmed content, deliberately dismayed, disarrayed

(Eyes that smile while gleaming like glass)

Shifty (eyes) and (that) rose-rimmed (smile), content (while) deliberately (gleaming), dismayed (like) disarrayed (glass)

But can't her hurtful nature acquiesce

(I understand selfish intentions, just acquiesce)

But (I) can't (understand) her (selfish) hurtful (intentions), nature (just) [acquiesce]

Verse 3 (mood 1)

You looked so happy playing in her sunlight

Now you search blindly for a cut off cord

You don't like thrashing in the dark, right?

You could change things and you know it but you don’t

Bridge

And you don’t even try to change things

You just justify what you think is good enough

Just what will suffice, but why settle for less?

Why settle for nothing?

Verse 1 (mood 2)

A jagged smile painted on an angel's servant's face

Previously privileged now no more than commonplace

Coming down to earth was not so hard now after all

Was it?

Pre-Chorus (mood 2)

Don't you know what you've done?

Don’t you know, don’t you know

When you reach a certain point

Things you do, things you say

Effect how other people feel

Understand, understand

Chorus

Shifty and rose-rimmed content, deliberately dismayed, disarrayed

(Eyes that smile while gleaming like glass)

Shifty (eyes) and (that) rose-rimmed (smile), content (while) deliberately (gleaming), dismayed (like) disarrayed (glass)

But can't her hurtful nature acquiesce

(I understand selfish intentions, just acquiesce)

But (I) can't (understand) her (selfish) hurtful (intentions), nature (just) [acquiesce]

Verse 2 (mood 2)

The curl of your lip sends shivers through the adamantine

Break them down like you do the likes of which we've all seen

Coming down to earth is harder the higher up you get

Isn't it?

Pre-Chorus (mood 2)

Don't you know what you do?

Don’t you know, don’t you know

When you reach a certain point

Things you do, things you say

Effect how other people feel

Understand, understand

Chorus

Shifty and rose-rimmed content, deliberately dismayed, disarrayed

(Eyes that smile while gleaming like glass)

Shifty (eyes) and (that) rose-rimmed (smile), content (while) deliberately (gleaming), dismayed (like) disarrayed (glass)

But can't her hurtful nature acquiesce

(I understand selfish intentions, just acquiesce)

But (I) can't (understand) her (selfish) hurtful (intentions), nature (just) [acquiesce]

Resolution

It would take a miracle

For you to take responsiblity

Take these words with all of my love

You've knocked me out with unjust capers

For all the pillars you fall from now on

Remember to think about things first

And before you try and fall in love again

Grow up

Author's Notes/Comments:

This was an attempt of mine to step outside of myself and view, objectively, the situation I was in... Towards the end I started to use the first person more and more and eventually I was fully into... So it wasn't a complete success, but oh well...

That is REALLY well-written. I like this part the best:
A million ways to die
You picked the one that hurts the most
The one that kills you on the inside
Destroys the spirit not the host
An empty body reeks of discontent
Damaged mind with room for rent

Great job! Adieu~ Melissa

In reguards to that Johnny boy up there ^
Please do not listen to him (although I have a feeling you won't, anyway).
People like that are such idiots, don't they realize that you write these things for YOURSELF?
And not to get attention from the INTERNET folks.
But anyway,
I liked this one a lot, especially the "verse 1 (mood 1)".

to dreary. stop writing stupid sad songs. theyre the worst. write something that will make people think, not stupid shit that that you hope will make people feel sorry for you.
