The Cycle

Confusion, like a Picasso painting,

pieces to the puzzle scattered around,

behind me the dawn looks over my shoulder.

I look upon the storm, chaos fills me.

Trapped like and animal inside a cage.

My mind can see the colors of the dawn,

But my cheeks are wet with the falling rain.

I close my eyes to the sound of the book

as he closes it with no bookmarked page.

Burning red pain sears my chest, clogs my brain,

The words of my mouth lose all meaning,

I truly know what it means to be alone,

Doomed to repeat cupid's time-line. The arrow,

a broken trust, unclouded lust, and end.
