Don't Turn Your Head Away

Folder:
IRAQ War II

You want the milk and honey,

But when asked for help,

You turn your head away.

You want freedom from the terrorists,

But when you see them,

You turn your head away.

You want a better life for your children,

But when you see them plant a bomb,

You turn your head away.

Burying your head in the sand,

Will not bring you to the promised land.

Only by standing against the bin Laden’s and Zahrqawi’s

Can you ever hope to be safe and free.

Our people no more wish to be there,

As you would wish to be here.

They have families back home,

That miss them terribly while they are gone.

Yet, these men are trying to do right,

And you can help us win this fight,

In the end, the only way to save the day,

Is if you don’t turn your head away.

Author's Notes/Comments:

To the Iraqi people. This is not the American's war on terrorism, it is the world's war on terrorism. Quoting John F. Kennedy, 'Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what YOU can do for your country.' You can help by reporting terrorists and where IEDs have been planted. Do it for your children and your grandchildren. Do it for Allah that his peace may once again reign over the land.

Well written and well said. It frustrates me unendingly when I hear stories from the boys about the apathy of the Iraqi people towards their issues and then see the hatred of the american people towards the war. It really is about time for more people to stand up for this country.

Good job :-)
