He came home
She greeted him at the door,
There was a little moan,
As he belted her to the floor.
Why do you treat me this way,
All he could do is hang his head,
Then I heard him say,
I wish you were dead.
In shock she crawled away,
But he was way to fast,
He caught her in her daze,
And started to choke the lass.
Coming to his senses, he backed away,
Rubbing his head he went to dine,
Leaving her to lay,
Whimper and whine.
In the morning he apologized,
Swore he would never do it again,
She knew he was telling lies,
And she would get even with him.
She went to the gym and learned Tae Kwon Do,
Would he be surprised
When it was him on the floor,
Looking up into her eyes.
There was going to be an evolution,
If she could only survive the welts,
To start her revolution,
After getting her black belt.
He was going to change or die,
It was up to him she didn’t care,
Their rolls would be reversed says I,
As you might be well aware.
He came home and started his assault,
She flipped him to the floor just for starts,
He cried, it is your fault,
As she put a jab to his heart.
She watched as he writhed in pain,
Asked how it felt to be on the receiving end,
Know this you will never hit me again,
Or I will not be so gentle, my friend.
From that day on,
He was the perfect gentleman,
And with the hostility gone,
They lived happily ever after then.
Wow, go her! It's been awhile since I've been here to read your poems, but I'm glad I'm back! Good job!
this is a great piece but I would say relationships that have brutality and both having to resort to it to get it to a peaceful point that there is anger mgmnt needed all the way around .its said to hear of such things even though it is a reality. If it happened to me I would leave the relationship and no second chances
