I think it's something you decide differently for each instance. Everyone has periods of growth where they can handle more transparency, and too, periods of growth where they feel the need for anonymity. I think it is up to the person, and what they feel confident about handling. With poetry, we write from the sky and stars...sometimes the sky and stars above, other times the sky and stars within, and yet other times we write from a place of perspective about others' skies and stars, so it is ultimately not much to do with what we write, just about the fact that there will be true poets that view our work with respect, and there with be....you know....those 'others'. ;-)
