now that should give

just a little insight to my mind today

Chuck Berry singing 'Johnny B. Goode'

what a song to heal by

music can help me when nothing else does

so i sit and listen trying to find

notes to soothe

A lot of Jim Croce

'I've Got A Name', 'Roller Derby Queen'

that man knew he could rock

too bad he was taken from us so soon

I sit here listening to voices of the past

songs taht soothe my aching soul

notes to soothe the pain in my mind and heart

I want to get up and dance when I hear these songs

I want to sing to the top of my lungs

I want to smile and laugh and have a great day

but I sit here looking

hoping to find

those notes that will soothe this aching soul

I had a dream but it seems out of reach

I have a name and that can change

from minute to minute

moving down the highway so life don't pass me by

I think maybe it should pass me today

now that is the one

hits the way I feel right now

waiting for my ship to come in

but all I get is the tide

silence is just too much today

I beg for something fun

something that can make things better
