poem_071_When_I_See_You

Every morning I wake to your smile

Every night my last image is your face

Now waking up is worthwhile

And going to sleep is an embrace

Your body is burly

Yet character so gentle

Sometimes even girly

But you’re just sentimental

I can’t wait to go to sleep

Since I’ll see you when I do

But I’ll wake up in a weep

Because the vision won’t be true

So I can’t wait to awake

Your face will be right there

To stop all of the ache

With your passion built care

I get lost in your eyes

Recovered in your voice

Saddened in goodbyes

As hellos make me rejoice

When you’re in my awaking view

My day isn’t so long

And when I see you

I know nothing can go wrong
