On this day of love
Red roses and care
I have a message
With you I’d like to share
In the midst of all the students
Through the witness of the staff
And especially to this guy
I address this to his behalf
Through the years of education
And the passes in the hall
I’ve found myself oddly drawn
With every memory I recall
The first my eye caught sight
Of this person I came to crush-on
Forever I was contemplating
About who I was struck upon
Throughout my freshman year
A common image ran
Within my crazed counsel
And this is where it began
Finally the name
In sophomore year I learned
Of this unknown guy
For whom I deeply yearned
And in the revelation
That dormant thought became
Accessed in a new flutter
For simply knowing his name
As juniors though busy
I passed him in adore
And with each excited chance
I fell further more
Now we are seniors
We share two classes
And in 7th period
Happen the most passes
Upon a project
We were to choose
I decided to plan
The break him the news
To help me on the project
I gathered up a crew
And took him home after school
To finish the project too
But as the night ended
And we were sitting in the way
I gracefully got out
And screamed what I had to say
As his face blushed
In finding out my crush
I also revealed to him
Something to further blush
“I have liked you for
More than four years
And finally I can put
Aside my haunting fears
No longer am I afraid
Of your possible rejection
I am telling you now
Of this lingering affection”
And as the night rolled on
We walked in the street
He slowly warmed up
At this sudden meet and greet
In the past four months
As we’ve grown
Through good and bad
Our love has shown
Now Valentine’s is here
And these flowers resemble
A symbolic message
In its black assemble
Each one a passed love
Gone terribly wrong
And now my longest relationship
We’re still growing strong
Here is a single red rose
To represent our love
I hope to only see it bloom
To infinity and above
As the weekend event approaches
Where girls do the asking
I hope not to miss the chance
That I could be basking
And now I ask
In an ecstatic glee
