She was so broken and alone
She was so far away from her home
She had been abandoned, left for better off as dead
She was crushed to pieces with the words they all had said
No one noticed the tears she had shed
Nor did they ever notice how much she had bled
Waiting all alone in a room so very dark
Just waiting for the hint or sign of a spark
No one there to share the journey on which she was about to embark
No one cared that she had finally found her reason and finally hit the mark
She was burning on the inside
Her heart so full of pain, she wished that she had died
All was light around her now, so she chose to run away and hide
Being the most honest person, everyone was suprised to see that for years she had lied
Love never wanted her
Misery was her friend
She was hoping and waiting for a cure
Something that could help make her heart mend
She never found what she was looking for
She searched long and hard
She wanted and hoped for so much more
She hoped that one day, she would be able to let down her guard
She knew that no one would notice, that no one would care
She knew no one would miss her when she was gone
So she sat down and wrote the words on a piece of paper lying there
And tears fell from her eyes as she thought of what to say
"I am so very sorry that it must come to this....
....I love you all so very much and you all, I will miss...
.....But I am going to find a better, safer place...
.....I will always remember your face...."
She left the note there by her side...
Turned on her favourite song...
She took the knife and stabbed it in her side
and with one final breath she whisphered,
" I am so sorry...."
....and then she was gone......
This poem is intensely powerful. Very dramatic and very sad, and it makes its point very, very well.
