I remember the first time I met you, like it was yesterday.

Your beautiful smile, your eyes, just blew me away.

I knew there was something, you just couldn’t see it.

I know now it was love, I truly believe it.

I don’t know how you feel deep in your heart,

but that particular day, I know that was the start.

I look forward to every moment I get to spend with you,

but sometimes I question, if you feel the same way too.

During my darkest days, you were there to lift my spirit.

What I wouldn’t give, for those three words, just to hear it.

But love is something you cannot demand,

you came into my life, I believe, by the grace of god’s hand.

I love you more than words can say,

I’m indebted to god, a debt I can’t repay.

But I can make a promise, to both him and you,

that you are my life, and that I will stay true.

I cannot ask god for you to share my same feeling,

but if you do not, I can ask him for healing.

I know one day I will look back on my life,

and if I am lucky, I will have you as my wife.
