As we sit here, on this dock,

feet hanging off the ledge,

of an uncertain future,

I can only smile, 

because tonight,

my future is here with you,

here we dont think of the past,

5 minutes ago, doesn't matter, 

as long as we're here,

5 minutes from now,

sitting beside this ocean,

together again,

you're cold, as always,

so you cuddle in closer,

as if i could protect you,

from the wind,

I wish I could. 

Here in these moments,

our lives come together,

as we sit here and watch,

the raging sea, 

the howling wind,

like it's just a dream,  

we sit and wait,

the violence in front of us,

stilled, calm, 

colour spills over the mountains,

as if an introduction, a prelude,

to the sunrise, the future,

5 minutes from now.
