. . .Rimbaud said a poet must test out all sorts of love. I’ve just been rejected and it hurts like Hell. I am left thinking that Rimbaud knew it would. I should probably feel content. I’m starting to feel a lot of things that the great ones wrote about. I’ll be the scorned lover. I’ll just invert the pain and hope it crystalizes into poetry. As Yeats said, “From quarrels with others comes rhetoric, from quarrels with oneself comes poetry.” I have to test out other forms of love, of madness, of suffering and of great joy. I must test and inspect my soul until I find the truth.
