Yeah, I get up

every day

and go to work;

punch in

and put in my 8

& to be honest

I don’t much cotton

to millionaire rock stars

singing songs

about

working class reality

if they ain’t

gonna come down

on the docks

& sweat it out

with me

then I really

don’t need to hear

their pretense

at understanding

but I guess

some people

are dumb enough

to fall for it

then again

some people were

dumb enough

to try buying

the Brooklyn Bridge
