To My Son

Folder:
Family

When you were born,

I breathed your first breath.

When you were hurt,

I cried your blue tears.

When you hungered,

I ate your crackers.

When you dirtied,

I washed your sweet face.

When you played hard,

I sewed your old jeans.

When you slept long,

I held you so tight.

When you were cold,

I mitted your gloves.

When you grew up,

I thanked God for that.

This one is definitely a personal piece, but, my son is such a cool guy, I had to post it just to brag about him.

Such a tender poem. So much love and pride expressed in so few lines. Yet it is all there. I enjoyed this sentimental and tender poem Amy. As beautiful as all your other poems that I have enjoyed.

This was most tender. And defintely worth bragging! If your son is so special, he must certainly be a reflection of you.

hiya ami! There's a painting by Angelica Kauffmann called Cornelia, Mother of Gracchi that I would like you to take a look at. I would love to buy it and send it to you, but we’re a non profit site! (wink!) hehe so I’d like to give you the link to it This piece of Neoclassicism that shows the bond between a mother and child by depicting a scene of everyday life This piece is use to commemorate the virtue of Cornelia, mother of the future political leaders Tiberius and Baius gracchus to reform the Roman republic. This scene consists of an everyday life one and it is between two ladies, Cornelia and a lady visitor with jewels. The lady visitor shows off her jewels to Cornelia, and Cornelia gestures to show off her jewels, her children. This shows that not only are they as precious as jewels to her, it shows that their bond is above one of the physical sense, and is more intangible and meaningful. i couldnt' find the piece online, but if you can go ahead and look for it, i think you might enjoy it! i hope your son will appreciate the wonderful mother you are. i like to buy treats for my mother because she's a big food person like me. i wish i could send you a big bag of chocolate chip cookies! oh, brag all you want as a mother, your proudest jewels are your children.
