MOUSE IN KITCHEN
The mouse
in the kitchen
is scurrying about
and making noise
and the damned
lazy cat
refuses to move
a muscle
to catch him.
I look down
at the cat
with a bit of disdain.
He ain’t doing
his job.
He’s just laying
around all useless and all
but I still feed
the son of a bitch
and I guess that’s
all that really counts.

Not a mouser, eh? Well, maybe when the Recession hits and the food gets lean, maybe then. That is the cat's meow. :D
