ATTATURK AIRPORT BAR

You get great deals

with Turkish Airlines

but it generally
requires a layover in Istanbul.

Of course, time spent

in Istanbul

is hardly a hardship.

It’s nice to get around

that amazing city.

One stretch I had

required 5 flights through Attaturk

in a 5 month span.

It’s a lively airport

with a marketplace

and one good bar.

A pint of Efes Pilsner

helps pass the time.

My head usually starts

spinning when I read

the board displaying

all the arrivals and departures.

I was becoming a regular.

I was joking

with the bartender

on my last visit

after he recognized me.

I don’t have much

going on in my life

but I was deeply honored

to be remembered

by a Turkish bartender

at the Attaturk Airport Bar.

To Travel

Whenever, travel is energizing (tiring, but fun). Jet lag becomes a memory, and only the images remain. :D

Thank you for commenting. To be fair with the travel, the writing covers my entire life.  So the traveling has been spread out over a lot of years.  Sometimes, I'm writing about a trip that may have occured 10 or 20 years ago.
