I gaze at you

As our words talk to each other

Somewhere in the air

While our souls gather somewhere else

Where words are not necessary.



I see forever in your eyes

An eternity of promised memories



It’s as if drops of sunshine

Have gathered in your pores

Brimming with light...

You glow.



I tried to write a poem about you before

But no words came to mind that would express

What you mean to me.

So, instead

I began to write your initials

Over                                      

  And over                    

                   And over again.

Down the page until there was no more room

And a cramp was forming in my hand.



Then, this morning

I crumpled up the paper of your initials

And started anew.

I woke and started making a list

About what I loved most.

Here it is:



I love the way you look at me

And the way you say my name

I love it how you’re so willing

To play my silly games(Tag!)



I love the way you place your hand

On my lower back

I love the way you smile at me

I love the way you laugh.



I love it how you get my jokes

And can tell if I’m in a bad mood

I love it how you’re so open minded

And are rarely, if ever, rude.



I love it how you’re so strong

And not only in a physical way

I love it when you listen intently

To everything I have to say.



I love it when we argue

I love it when we kiss

I love it how I know

When I’m not here I am missed



I love it how I never know

What’s going through your head.

I love the way you love me

Enough said.
