I can't say I need you cause I really don't

you say you'll love me forever but you won't

don't make promises that you can't keep

cause in the end it will only make me weep

it will do me no good for you to do that

cause I've heard promises like this in the past

and this time I've learned that they can't be true

I've hurt from these mistakes before but I got through

please don't suck the life out of my soul with your sharp dagger teeth

so if you are looking for a one night stand get the hell away from me

it would be great to go out with you but I don't need a man

I don't need a relationship to make me happy in life

I don't need someone to hold me to get me through the night

I don't need to define myself in another person to know me

I don't need to be in love to know that I am really pretty

I can get by on my own however I would love to have you come along

I would love to have you in my life but I don't need you to be strong
