All I want for Christmas

Folder:
2005

snow falling to the ground so white so pure

but we don't focus on what we should anymore

oh Jesus, what have we done, what have we done

why don't we celebrate the birth of God's only son

and I can feel the tears you cry as they fall unnoticed to all

when you are lost in the decorations and santa and you feel so small

have we forgotten what Christmas is really all about

the feeling when I see how people act leaves me with doubt

chorus

all I want for Christmas

is my Jesus

that's what it's all about above

a baby born in a manger to bring us God's love

and in that way

Christmas could be every day

Christmas has become so commercial

everything now is just so artificial

Santa Clause is now becoming the center of the holiday

when it is really Jesus who should for his birthday

there is no present that you can find under a tree

as wonderful as what Jesus has offered me

and believe me it means so much more

when you know what you are celebrating for

chorus

imagine if you had given your all for the world

but no one on your birthday even read your word

no one remembered to say thank you or hello

no one told you they loved you or let it show

shouldn't we be raising our hands up high

and praising him until the day that we die

but if we can't give him a moment of our time Christmas day

then how could we begin to do it at all so won't you stand and say

chorus

I totally agree. At Christmas when we all get together at my parent's house, one of my sisters who makes really good bakded goods...I told her she should open her own bakery honestly...she always makes a birthday cake for Jesus and we sing happy birthday to Jesus together on Christmas Eve when we all get together, our extended families...so some of us haven't forgotten but ya, Christmas is so commercial...sad but true.
