Follow Me

Hey you, lookin out there across the oceans,

and wandering through the fields of your mind.

What is it you're looking for my friend?

Is it someone to hold?

or something to be?

Is it far away, young or old?

or right here with you and me?

I can help you find it

if you just look through my eyes.

See the world for what it really is

through all the tears in your eyes.

Whatever you do...

Follow me through the fields of Indiana,

or across the ocean called Pacific.

Follow me through the bayou,

and look through these eyes of mine.

Follow me away from where you are

through the sands of time,

and I will show you who you are

through these eyes of mine.

One of these days you will see

how great life looks through me.

I know how you're feelin right now.

Like no one cares for you or me,

but through me you'll see how

great life can truly be.

Follow me through the hills of Tennessee,

or walk through the fire with me.

Follow me across the heavens

and look through these eyes of mine.

Follow me away from where you are

through the sands of time,

and I will show you who you are

through these eyes of mine.

I see the workings in your life,

and how hard it can be.

When it gets tough remember why

it had to happen to me.

I died for you on that day

on the hill called Cavalry.

Follow me through the winds of change,

and across the hills called time.

This time it's me and you,

as you look through these eyes of mine.

Follow me away from where you are

through the sands of time,

and I will show you who you are

through these eyes of mine.

Follow me, have faith in who I am and why,

and I will never let you die!

Author's Notes/Comments:

Think of this from a possible perspective of Jesus as we continue to struggle with our faith in Christ every single day.  He has promised to never leave our side, even when we are down, and feel unworthy.  Even then, he is there with his hand outstretched, waiting for us to say "Please help me Lord."  This is coming from someone who rejected Christ for years upon years because I thought he was causing all of this bad stuff in my life when it was ME making those mistakes that I blamed him for.  I am just as guilty for hanging him on the cross as the Pharisees were, but even so, he forgives me because I sincerely ask it of him...thank you Lord.

it is always nice to see others use their gifts in a positive way. i find this beautiful and very inspiring. we've all heard the sayings, there is a season for everything and God won't give you more than you can bear, but in desperate times, people turn a deaf ear in order to blame. i see all of the above pointed out, and most of all, the fact that God gives us free will, make of it what we will, he'll still be there. wonderful verse!!
