New mountains, new rivers,
Higher and deeper than those,
Steep and unpredictably queer,
And the ground shaking with tremors.
Battleground with new soldiers,
This path to truth seems to be,
Opposing and multiplying,
My faith tested incessantly...
Who to call when even friends,
Vanish unexpectedly,
It's left to me and me alone,
To swim and scale patiently.
Flowers, sunsets and women,
And other 'preoccupations',
Keep him busy, very busy,
He can't reply or listen.
Yet I am not deterred at all,
Let even Everest try and stop me,
Let the Yangtze River dare to stop,
My determination ensures victory.
And my unseen Friend, my Lord God,
Is always there for me with help,
And endless doses of His mercy.
I care not about the stars and signs,
What is mine shall be mine,
No bond or snag can detract me,
And nothing can ever strain my will,
To see the Countenance of Almighty.
