Last evening after the sun went down I met my Saqi*
Veiled and beautiful as ever readily greeting me
Spread for me were goblets and wine of rarest rapture
And intoxication from gaze purest which love can capture.
Handing me out my blessed glass of drink my Saqi* told me
Love the woman who loves you more than the one you love only
Learn wisdom of the heart's relief from the wine I give you
The one you love intoxicates while the loving one heals you.
Even from the veil of beauteous mystery my Saqi was wiser
Glass after glass of different drinks were given to muster
The dead wisdom inside me and awaken real virtue
Love the one who loves you more than the one who intoxicates you.
So after the session inside the tent of 'paradise'
The half moon also smiled at me with most loving eyes
With shaky steps did I walk out of the tavern
And a breeze of glad tidings embraced me from heaven.
I smelt the fragrance of my beloved and felt much uplifted
And like the Saqi this unseen angel was whispering to me:
"Love her who loves you more than she who dazzles thee"
And I felt sobre -- thanks to my beloved and my Saqi.
Quite beautiful and moving! Sir Poet's heart has alas healed itself of its age old bruises, nicks and tears to bloom nicely into the loveliest of Carnations there are!
FOR ALL THE WORLD WAS A GARDEN
AND HE THE LOVELIEST OF ALL
SOFT BLUE CARNATIONS ABOUND
STOPPED SLUMPING AWAY FROM
THE SUN'S LIGHT
LONG ENOUGH TO REALIZE
A ROSE IS JUST
A RED LOVELY ROSE
THE REDDEST BEAUTY AROUND
AS BY VISUAL ROMANTICS
IT WAS LONG AGO DEEMED SO
AH BUT
THE JOY OF BEAUTY IS
ALSO THE JOY OF LOVE
AND ONLY THIS
A FAITHFUL CARNATION
SUCH AS HE
KNOWS..............
you know who!........ so why type it?
