RUTH:
Love can change from carnal romancing if it is true,
It changes from carnal romancing when there's mutual respect,
So a couple truly in love put the other partner before themselves,
They are selfless not selfish and this is how love should work.
EMMENAY:
Love tears apart the body, heart and mind,
Steals all peace, contentment and rest,
Yet fills the soul with divine ecstasy,
Making every moment worth living at its very best.
RUTH:
Without love, there is a void beyond words,
A void of what wonder love alone provides,
What encompassment of two, as one, can accomplish,
Such love that sees you through everything.
EMMENAY:
The nights become darkest when,
Love becomes just aching memories,
As the heart keeps pining and craving,
Longing to be near the beloved again.
RUTH:
She also pines in her silent of moments,
For love becoming just a memory,
Pangs the heart, the soul,
And she waits for him to turn things around.
EMMENAY:
The pangs of parting shine in the tears,
Clouding the eyes and can't be held back,
When communication finds no response--
Why is she so quiet about her lover’s fears?
RUTH:
She wonders if he will ever communicate his true intention,.
She feels he has abandoned her,
He may have fears but why is he not telling her,
Why won't he talk to her, why won't he ever explain?
EMMENAY:
Why does she wonder about his love for her,
When she knows she is his and he is hers;
Or has she forgotten the heavenly bond,
That links one half of his soul to hers?
RUTH:
It is perhaps her own insecurity of the idea of a true love that frightens her,
A fear that her own imperfections would not completely be accepted by him,
Yet she loves him unconditionally, and needs to know from him in an outward form,
He does and will always love her, and make it known in such a fashion.
EMMENAY:
True love is an evergreen tree,
Instantly recognised by the heart that cares,
It is truth and it is beauty,
Eternal and unmoved by fears and glares.
RUTH:
The universe funnels love throughout humanity, through time, lifetimes,
Yet it is the free will of the human spirit that often questions, when in reality there are no questions,
It allows the flow of a life time to reach its destiny individually and in the collective whole,
By silence rather then voice, the universe lets one/us make our given decisions,
EMMENAY:
If insecurity shrouds her so much from him,
And if her longing to be just his dims,
Then he must reach out with all means and power,
To convince her that he loves her the most and only her.
RUTH:
She's waiting for him to reach out and ease all fears, apprehensions,
Yet communication at best seems vague to her senses,
She longs to be with him, but who should take the first steps,
The quandary ongoing, she is puzzled and knows not what to do.
EMMENAY:
He feels instinctively about all that worries her,
And rushes forward to save her from her distressed state,
And when they meet and look at each other, love shines in their eyes,
No words are spoken now, no questions, no replies.
RUTH
The unity of two as one, euphoric moment of ecstasy
Answers gotten, two hearts joined that were parted only by self-doubt
Yet, their persistence -- the key
Unity reached, the ultimate goal found.
Nice tandem and grasp of the "arguments" and impulses inspired by love.
my congratulations to both of you, for this work of poetry that you two collaborated, and produced this very beautiful poem, a unique way of sending out messages of love and devotion.
