JUST ONE GLANCE

Like Samson chained, grinding the daily grind,

I have lost interest but must work entwined,

The ugliness of this world is too apparent,

And my life here a rolled parchment.

No desire to live, nor to carry on,

Yet, I know, I have to pull on,

Like Orion and others around Polaris,

I too must revolve on a daily basis.

O heart and mind, at least flash a dream,

Of the world I long for, just show me one scene.

Let me have a glimpse of my promised paradise,

Just one glance, so that the hope survives.

AN UNLADYLIKE ASSUMPTION NO DOUBT!

ah but would thou knoweth
such sweet paradise
if indeed thou glimpsed upon it's
heavenly contours
perhaps thou is beseeching
its fringes even now
and finds thine eyes veiled
from the drapery of its human scaffolding's
due course
or in thine squandered  folly
thou is realizing his good intentions are no
more than stones made of discarded flint
there are bonfires of vanity that one
lights to see through what one
finds he can not yet circumvent
but I have little doubt now of thee
thine surface is polished and well kept
quite the beautiful and neat
encasing a so beloved heart
scattering his beautiful words
even today
at the world's still undeserving feet................

you know who!..........so why type it? smiles fondly.
