A day like other days it was,
Somehow it did not come to pass,
Like other days, its very end,
Wrought havoc, disaster and loss.
Buildings have come down crumbling,
But innocents have seldom borne suffering,
The way costly human blood was spilled,
What a ghastly sight eyes were witnessing!
Terror and panic filled the air,
Blames and rumours were everywhere,
Dignity of mankind was simply lost,
As destruction and doom did stare.
It's a moment of repentance for us all,
The time when those who survive the fall,
Recollect themselves and turn to good,
Seeking fresh hope in God's Hall.
What use blaming someone, somewhere,
Life has to move on, we should bear,
The turmoils and twists that test our faith,
And join hands in being just and fair.
In this poem you were very loving and compassionate as well as level headed. On that terrible day and the subsequent days following I was not. I was highly upset. Needless slaughter of innocents always upsets me but I know God's punishment in the end for such heinous un God like deeds is far better punishment than anything mankind can meter out to the individuals responsible for that. The same goes for any terrible atrocity committed there after. I just wanted to say though I loved your calm, saddened, sympathetic demeanor. In those days right after that occurred we needed that most. Thanks for sharing. God forbid if there ever is a next time to that magnitude of carnage I will try to be the better person and take a page out of your book. Thank you for opening my eyes on this.
