HOW LONG CAN I BE SANS HER

Overcast day brings back feelings,

Of my long lost youth,

When my beloved was with me.

Let the sun hide its own heat,

Let me go there, where,

I'd enjoyed with my beloved.

How I miss her winsome ways,

Her beautiful voice,

And her evergreen laughter!

Can nature know my grief,

Can anyone fathom,

How lonely I have been left?

I care not if the clouds swell,

Or the sun hides light,

I ONLY MISS MY DAPHNE.

She was my sunlight, moonlight,

She was just my own,

Now she has left me alone.

Often by the seashore I,

Sit, dreaming of her,

Till the high tide wakes me up.

What is love without Daphne,

No lass is like her,

How long can I be sans her?

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written on an overcast summer day with my first and only love Daphne John's memories were making me oblivious of everything else. Daphne was and is my FULL MOON even on the darkest night.

How

hard it is to lose the love of your life. There is no pain like it, and no better way to remember your Daphne than to immortalize her in poetry.

Still...

She is your muse... Oh, but the heartache sits so closely with you. Sad and painful this write.
