is what they always tell me

and you can forget the pain



but what they don't see

is my past haunts me

every night in my dreams

my past is what i see



abuse, pain, drugs, strain

a life i've tried to forget

but i just can't put it behind me

i can't forget about what used to be

is the thought in my brain

till i can finally forget the pain
