Today I saw the man I love.



I asked myself, Why can’t you be mine?



I love you so, yet you still don’t know.



Every time I see your face I stop breathing if only for a moment.



You are in my dreams to catch me when I fall,



To wipe away the tears when I cry.



And still I ask, Why can’t you be mine?



I love you more than you could ever know.



Every day I await your smile & your hug,



To send me through the day as if I were flying on the wings of eagles.



I hear your voice and I hope that one day you might be mine.



And every day when you pass me by I ask,



Why can’t you be mine?
