Roller Skating In Deep Sand

I know it's time to play my hand,

oh I'd love to be your man.

You're the Venus of my dreams

                            you're a rockin romance queen.

You're as special as each day

in the sun or in the rain.

You're a soft and gentle dove

                            you're the reniasance of love.

                            Chorus:

I'd like to say the things I feel

but my tongue is tied my lips are sealed

                            Gettin nowhere's where I am

like roller skating in deep sand.

I know I'd love to stroke your skin

I'd love to kiss your impish grin.

                            You're upbeat a spinning wheel

you're the gamble that turns real.

You're the topping on the cake

the sweet frosting I can taste.

Like a flower's scent in the breeze

I'd like to smell you close to me.

                            Chorus:

I'd like to say the things I feel

but my tongue is tied my lips are sealed.

                            Gettin nowhere's where I am

like roller skating in deep sand.

                            Ah my tongue is tied...

I wish I could have you by my side

                            my lips are sealed

I can't say what I want to say.......

I'm trying to skate in deep sand t'ward you...

Clever, Eric, a joy to read. It reminds me of the lyrics by an old band called Golden Earring in their ska days. You did a great job, piling one sweet image on top of the next. Ken

Eric, The title drew me right in, so clever! I wanted to bring my guitar over to the computer and sing these words while trying to figure out a happy and bouncy strum pattern and chord progression for this (key word there is trying, I still don't play very well but I keep at it!) :) I love the bouncy feel of this poem and that title just kills me with its cleverness.
