Attack on Women and LGBTQA rights. (Explicit)

Warning this rant is going to trigger alot of you, I don't care how you feel about what I'm about to say.  You can block me but this needs to be said....1. Abortion is a women's right and no one should tell her what to do with her body especially government..  2 These anti trans anti gay laws are absolutely despicable and dangerous.  Let me tell you why. We need to learn to accept and support everyone.  This makes it so hard and difficult for a child to get support and or to learn it's okay that someone has 2 dads or 2 moms or is a different sex. There isn't any harm with Teaching! It's the outrageous ridiculous discrimination coming from the mouths of people and hate that makes me sick.. I see the shit that is going on in the news especially with all these new laws being signed. Look at Texas, Florida,Ohio, and many more. These children see and hear everything from the news to tv shows commercials. It's our job as parents to teach our kids right. We had sex education in school we all turned out fine. We learned about racism and we turned out fine. Now they want to come and change change change.  We are falling back in times and not looking forward.  I love the LGBTQA community,  I support them 100%.. Have we lost our minds, did we forget how far we came towards  racism sexism and discrimination.  Do we need to be reminded Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr. Or how about the name Matthew Shepard who was murdered for being gay...Why are we so afraid what another person's is doing with there life!!! HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOU!!! IT DOESN'T!!! DON'T SUPPORT ABORTION THEN DON'T GET ONE.. DON'T SUPPORT THE LGBTQA COMMUNITY THEN KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.  TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THEY ARE NOT A THREAT. Learning about acceptance and care is not a bad thing. Isolating them from reality is.. Some people may not think like us or understand like us but when it comes to being a human we are all as most of you say God's Children " well you are doing a great job showing it... I believe in life and everyone has the right to live there lives without others infringing on thier right to be Happy.. politicians use this to divide our country and that's what we are divided on different opinions and views.. THESE ARE YOU'RE FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS,  CHILDREN, BROTHERS, SISTERS, COUSINS, AUNTS UNCLES AND ENEMIES.  SHOW YOU'RE SUPPORT AND STAND UP FOR HUMANITY!!!!   Let's go further not back. We need to protect women's rights, we need to protect the LGBTQA community we need to stand up against hate...Show Love or shut up.... That's the end of my rant...

We're better off without blocking

I have read some of your 'ranting', but wanted to pause at "You can block me but this needs to be said...."

If there's to be a healthy discussion, understanding, and progress, no one should be blocking, banning or censoring anyone else. I hope postpoems will always stay the way it has been, as it seems that most other sites, poetry or otherwise, have gone the way of people either blocking each other or there being banning "from above".

I can tell already that there are some things I agree with you on, but also things I surely don't. But even if I completely disagreed, I'd still hope no one would interfere with you saying it, and that I'd still have every right to read it. Anyone who doesn't want to read it can just skip on to the next write.

But, I also hope that you'll reconsider telling people that disagree with you to "keep their mouth shut", as that is part of the obstruction. You're closing people off from hearing your point of view, when you do that. Maybe not this writer, because I'm not so easily deterred, but many others. If I can share the following:

I used to work a lot in activism, and I was part of groups that would street flier and discuss issues of serious concern with passer-by's in downtown Manhattan, Brooklyn, and other places in the city. We ran into many people who disagreed, but it was those who didn't respond with anger and shouting others down that won over the most people. Rarely did the shouters - those among us who would tell people to "shut up" - win anyone over. Just friendly advice for you, sir.

The point of telling people

The point of telling people to keep there mouths shut is mainly the ones who have bathing but hate to spew.  This was posted on all my social media platforms. People actually block what they disagree with.

I've seen people who espouse

I've seen people who espouse hatred be won over when handled with honey. I've never seen it, otherwise. They tend to dig in deeper - like most of us - when put on the defensive. Once told to "shut up", defensive instincts kick in. Escalation ensues. Sometimes, even those with hatred in their hearts start to see things differently when they see that the person who is supposedly their enemy isn't trying to conquer them, but rather talk with respect. It's how a jazz musician Darryl Davis got the head of the KKK to quit, which is probably the best example I could ever think of, and definitely greater than anything I've ever accomplished.

The Rant

.

A PostPoem tradition. "isolating them from reality..." made me pause--that exclusionary attitude is harmful. All excellent points, disenfranchisement and lynching is back, California,  Grand Rapids, Michigan  - saddness and now talk of ending traffic stops by police. All the shootings - lack of mental health care... harm ad nauseum.  Good rant.

It Has Always Been So

Good stuff is also out there! Not in the news, but there. Across all borders, dads are clowning at new borns, grandmas smile at toddlers. Someone stands on a seaside outcropping waching breakers with internal bliss, the grill is full and hotdogs and sausages are next to thick steaks, roasting corn, crab legs, and lamb chops. Out prosperity supports us, rejeuvenates us to go beavely into the boiling world ready to solve. The old think of legacy, the young of opportunity.
.

The great times enjoyed make the horrors huge. We blink, as writers, take a deep breath, and keep standing as witness. Nothing can dull the brightness in my grandson's eyes. Nothing!

If I may : )

The worst thing that ever happened to us, as humans, was being able to know what is happening a 1000 miles away. Probably even a 100 miles away is just too much, most of the time.

It's not all bad, as we get to enjoy each other's writings and shared discussions, here. That's wonderful. I've also met people from half way around the world, literally, as a result of the cables and satellites. But, perhaps we'd be so much better off without knowing the rest of it. Every report of a disaster that's out of my hand's reach to help withh, I wonder what's the point of knowing? It drags down my energy, when there are little things of substance and joy I can involve myself in right around me.

I've strong feelings about much of what has been touched on here. Yet, there's zero chance that what I think is going to change what ever the hell is going to happen. So I quickly observe (perhaps still more than I should) and move on. Because I can't change these issues being decided by people in mansions far away, but I could plant a bush that can feed area butterflies for the next 50 years. I could go into town and help the pantry serve food to the growing number of hungry people. A 100% chance that these things help this little piece of the world. It's small, but it's something. Knowing too much about the rest of the world seems to only serve to kill those efforts. At least, to me, it appears that way.
