Ode to Diana

Diana,when sun sets in slumber,
Like a siren, luring sailor to watery grave,
With lustful designs and unsurpassed beauty
Thou seteth mine heart aflame

Be the balm that my soul desires,
With hair dark as raven’s wing;
Lest unrest bloom like a poisonous flower
In this picturesque night o’ spring

Wouldst thou thaw my ice cold heart,
And spirit me away from burdened past?
Together to reach the joyous eternity
in drunken splendor at last…

Come to me in a blanket of nightfall,
Lull to rest my sorrows, goddess most fair;
Make love to me as the darkness is growing
And faint phantoms stir the air….

Bewilder me with thine odours of myrtle,
Save me from this fray;
Oh bride of the night, I ask of thee
Ere dawn takes thee away…

Author's Notes/Comments:

A somewhat dark, romantic view on moon goddess Diana as one of femme fatales. Hope you will enjoy it:)
