Turned Around

I went to town this morning
There was a man, yelling and screaming
He yelled that life was unfair

Everyone looked at him in a weird way
Like he was a crazy man
And maybe he was

I went to him and told him that it will be allright
That God loves him and that the Angels are watching over him

Now he looked at me and probably though I was crazy
He told me that he didn't believe in those things

I said that you don't have to believe
He still loves you, and he will help you through life

Next Sunday, the very same man
Sat in the church beside me
And prayed

Amen!

I love this!!! When I read it, it seemed like a song. Very easy to read and it has a nice rhythm to it. As a Christian, I love the subject matter in this poem. We are called to give encouragement to all those who need it - whether they are people we know or strangers 'yelling and screaming' in the middle of the street :-) - and to tell them about the hope that we as Christians have, and about God, who is the one that gave us this hope. Most of all, I like the happy ending of this poem; that this man went to Church and prayed - meaning that he found some hope and peace. What an encouraging poem!
