* Bird on a White Wave

Folder:

for Jennifer Evelyn

On the waves in the distance

rode a bird

wings stretched out

scanning the shore

until he found her.

There stood the Lady Gwenhwyfar

"I've waited so long," said her eyes.

"I know," he replied.

The bird called to the Lady

"Come ride the waves with me".

She eyed him with caution.

"Be not afraid, Lady Gwenhwyfar

for you were born on a white wave;

you know these waters."

"Aye," said the Lady.  "I do."

She felt her soul stir

as she stepped into the cool womb of the Earth.

She looked up for the bird

But saw no one,

felt only the sea air.

"Where are you?" she called out,

as the waves gently drew her in.

"I am here, Lady Gwenhwyfar.

Can you not feel me?

You and I are One."

"So we are," breathed the Lady,

giving herself completely to the sea.

She dove down deep,

and then she emerged,

rising up on a sea of foam

the Goddess within awakened.
