You cannot dominate me,

my spirit is free

Domination can never occur

I won't let it.

I'm a wild mustang

which you cannot tame.

I'm free like a bird

you cannot dominate me.

My life is mine to lead

my pains are mine to bear.

You may have brought me up

but you don't own me.

So stop trying to tell me

how to live, what to believe...

just stop trying to dominate me!

Author's Notes/Comments: 

This was written about someone who, though they were trying to be helpful, kept coming across as being very dominating and controlling.  Maybe someday I pray they will see this flaw in their life before it moves to someone else.
