She Who Was A Mermaid

Folder:
She Who Was....

There was a girl

who made a wish

and it was that

she could swim with fish.

She didn't need,

to breathe in air,

so she could stay beneath water

without a care.

She swam across

the deep blue sea,

and came up

to talk to me.

She described creatures

you wouldn't believe.

when fishes died,

she would grieve.

This beautiful girl,

was like a child,

she lost human nature,

and became quite wild.

She forgot that humans

do not have gills.

She's drowned men,

holding them down til they stilled.

But she didn't understand,

that they weren't like her.

But I couldn't judge,

of this I was sure.

I asked if there,

were others with tails.

But she said she's alone,

with her friend that whale.

I felt really bad,

for this girl/fish.

Who just managed to make,

one really dumb wish.

She told me that

each person gets one.

But after that,

its over and done.

She said if she could,

she would rewind,

and make a wish,

that she wasn't one of a kind.

But most of all,

she'd wish she'd have feet.

And walk through life,

loving people she'd meet.

So I decided right then,

in the midst of the sand.

That my one wish,

was that she may walk on Land.

Sounds like something you'd

Sounds like something you'd do from what I've seen of your poetry. Sweet girl. I am going to nickname you Ariel'sWish.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
