Its not a matter of anything

Oh come on,  its so perfect outside.
And we've never needed a reason before
to feel dead inside..
So strap up, cause things get messy,
when you go to war with yourself
over fragmented memories..
With every revisit

they get overwritten
until the only story left
is the one that never happened.
But its all worth dying for
like that Sunday afternoon
with all of our clothes on the floor
and that nagging/ haunting / dreadful feeling
that when the clock strikes midnight
my heart stops beating.
but i guess i do get too preoccupied,
and dismissing it builds it a temple in my mind.
In that moment it all comes to full fruition
cause I'm really good at thinking a concept

into conception .
so now i'll replay your words
until my heart breaks down
"i want to stay here forever"
yeah,  you say that now.

I liked this

This wasn't too long and you stayed on task. Some poems can go on and on. I try to avoid it personally which isn't easy because I like to ramble. I can associate with what you wrote and liked how you reflected on whatever it was that motivated you to write this poem. There are a lot of elements in this poem that I picked up on. I liked the way you presented the idea of memories which is actually a theory in psychology. There's so much that I like about the poem that it would take too long to cover. So, I'll just say that I liked it!

I really enjoyed this read.

I really enjoyed this read. Memory...all subjective! We can never accurately revisit. Best to just stay in the moment. Thats the only place truth lives...
