When saviors become scapegoats
And allies are forced to take the undeserving blame
When pillaged war badges are proudly displayed on the shattered sleeves of bloodstained coats
Is where we wretchedly realize that this battle is far more than just a bloodthirsty game
When fearless soldiers die
And audacious heroes are born
When corrupted angels cry
Is where America begins to silently pray and mourn
When the leafless trees whisper the names of lost, loved ones into the opaque night
But merely wind is heard and the only thing felt is the frigid breeze
When the perpetual darkness deprives us of our remaining sight
Is where our Purple Hearts begin to excruciatingly freeze
When we parade in unison on the enemy infested street
And forever spontaneously comes to a tragic end
When hearts beat
Is where the world can hopefully find a way to peacefully mend
the stuff you write is really passionate, really emotional. i like it
