A Decade Of Writing
I've been writing for ten years today
I've written about everything,
I've penned poetry about God
the way it made my heart sing.
I've penned about the lost
of loved ones in the past,
written about broken hearts
and how children grow too fast.
I started off slowly
some didn't make any sense,
I had reached personal goals
it made me write more intense.
I've penned two books
one about nature, the other comedy,
other books are on the go
these words don't ever let me be.
I can't wait to write
for another ten years, if not more,
I don't care, if it makes me rich
but writing, I'll always adore.

I must preface
this by saying, that I am a poetry fanatic and I use poetry to relax, and I never turn away any poetry, good, bad or indifferent, your poetry is by far excellent... First reads are always an introduction to the poets aura, but it is the "re-reads" that I find help to develop a true deep understanding for what opinions as an audience we will conclude for a myriad of reasons... the more varied the poems are the more fertile soil for the readers to blossom in their own interpretations…
I am glad that you will continue to write, for all the reasons you give and more...

I truly enjoyed reading your comment. I know exactly what you mean. I never turn any poetry away either. Thank you so very much for the compliment. I find for myself, if I concentrate too much on writing, I can't write what I want to put into words. I am still like that, even after writing for over ten years. I notice, when I read a person's poetry, I "re-read," as well, because it gives me a better understanding of what I am reading too. So, you're not the only one that does that and that's a good thing. :O) I think to date, I have over 10,000 pieces penned. I have a few more published, but just have to settle with them being posted on line, instead of having them published through a publishing company.
