SHIP CREW MEMBER

Folder:
ABSTRACT POEMS

I'm a lot of time away from home.

      There's nobody but me.

    Nobody to talk to, but

      the ocean or the sea.

Nothing but the ocean, nothing but the sea.

The ship rocks.  The ship rolls.

Getting through is true, is my goal.

It's what I want to do.

Nothing but the ocean, nothing but the sea,

Can't I imagine a better life for me.

A long time away from home.

    A long time alone.

A long time away from my wife.

Maybe I need a different life.

I know a lot of times, I am not there.

I wonder if she is having an affair.

I wonder if she thinks I'll get lost

  and never be found.

I wonder if she thinks I'll be drowned.
