The sun is setting in the evening sky,
Alone I wait till I find why,
Things have changed so suddenly,
I love you my darling, endlessly.

Seconds & minutes go by,
I wait near the phone so calmly,
Wanting it to ring with tears in my eyes,
Counting the days till you will be mine.

You love me, I know my darling,
But why is this world so cruel, I can’t understand it,
I need your love so very badly,
Remember to keep me forever in your heart tightly.

The times of love we spent, I treasure,
Tell me can our love, ever be measured?
Your touch I feel with heavenly breeze,
Tears fall down without any ease.

Your handkerchief you hold close with sheer,
Holding it with both hands I keep it near,
Your perfume smell with love so dear,
Our future ahead is not at all clear.

I keep your handkerchief at night on my pillow,
Sleepless nights, with happiness and sorrow,
Hold me my love and not, my gray shadow,
I need you my darling, I’m not still a widow.
