Sometimes I get lost
Sometimes I enjoy
Getting lost
In the captured moments
Of that beautiful day in October
Lost in a photo album
Lost in a day I'd given up on having
Lost in the emotion of seeking and finding
Lost in friends and family's best wishes
But mostly:
Lost in my wife's beautiful face
Lost in the eyes that convey
So much kindness, love and acceptance of me
Lost in the fine lines that tell
Of her story, of her journey
Lost in her smile, the smile
That shows she knows joy too
Lost in the way she's holding onto me
Like she knows I'll never let her fall
So, I'm lost in a thought I'm sure is true:
I do think if I showed
A much younger me these photos
He would smile and say, "Yes, I can see why,
I can see why you chose her."
