The trees fall off their leaves
Returning to the ground
Children scamper and jump,
Fluffing the red and orange pillows.
Parents eye and smile
Pulling the naked leafs to piles
Where their kids trample
Bump and jump
While giggling, into the pit.
Summer waves goodbye as autumn walks home
Dressed in long sleeves
Holding a pumpkin and scarf,
Decorated in dazzling designs.
School children run past the houses
With ghosts and ghouls
Strewn across the barren lawn,
Followed by boney skeletons.
Here she sits,
Waiting for October.
Lovely capture of moments. You really described the essence of the day nicely.
