tightrope

I wonder if the phone will ever ring

Maybe I am on my own?

I never realized that people had better things to do

And maybe I can see more clearly, now that I am in the fog

And maybe I don't need to talk

Maybe the voices will do the talking for me

But my spirit is sometimes so quiet that I forget that it is there

and I am determined to keep myself on this tightrope that is so bent on throwing me off

Author's Notes/Comments:

This one is about new situations and how you learn a lot about yourself when you sit in silence.

I love this line,
"But my spirit is sometimes so quiet that I forget that it is there
and I am determined to keep myself on this tightrope that is so bent on throwing me off"

And I wonder why I haven't critiqued this yet. It didn't have.. hmm, you know.. the amazingly amazing line that sticks out in your mind like I'm used to, but it was still very good. Very.

"I never realized that people had better things to do" that made me laugh because I've felt like that SOOO many times! My only thing about this poem is I don't think it should be in the center, take it out and put it into fun line breaks and stuff...that'll make it more powerful. Very nice show of emotions, we've all been there...the last line about the tightrope is f-ing amazing!!!
