Tomorrow b Tonight

Stars dimly lit

Fade just another bit

To a darker shade of silver, just this side of black

Thin sliver of moon

Casts into a darkened room

Like the closing of a door on someone never coming back

This night will never end

A distant owl call

The loneliness of all

A wolf howl answers sadly as the crickets start to sing

No nightingale cries

Spotlit by fireflies

The darker chill of midnight gives a slightly colder sting

The cold will never end

So many moonlit chances

And dimly lit romances

But that's not what this night is all about

But the drying of life's stream

Or the ending of a dream

Or the sudden, total silence as a million stars go out
