BeautifulBrownSkin
Why does ignorance plague you so?
Rendering judgement based upon your pigment
Envious of a strength and endurance they'll never know
BeautifulBrownEyes
Are there any truths within your sights?
Vision obscured by arbitrary antics, and fabricators
Hell bent upon jealous plight
BeautifulBrownBody
So strong and so divine
Subjected to a world with more interest in the contours
of your ass - than the context of your mind
BeautifulBrownBrotherSister
Mother
Father
Daughter
And Son
Friend of mine til the end of time
All of these figures
Either you are or have been
Beautiful in spirit
So real and so free
A heart made of gold
Always giving and trying to please
With the patience of JOB
Holding dear the one's you really LOVE
Does a day ever escape you, without having
To ask for patience from up above?
Just when you think your every angle has been blown
By the unruly justifications of what life defines
As "THE UNKNOWN"
OH NO!
That's not all
There is plenty more where that came from
Case in point
"What - do - you - do?"
Stand fast upon the faith in what
You were reared to believe as true?
Or rationalize your way onto shallow beliefs
And run .. run .. run..
When you are BeautifulAndYou'reBrown
Ain't life a trip?
Damn...

You ain't never lie....Very nice poem....you go girl...
Shit. No, really.
This must be a spoken word peice. . .because I can almost hear it being read. This spoke volumes on what it means to be black and also to be proud. Very good poem! Keep on keepin on! Peace, Love, and Prosperity!
