Beneath the drizzling rain I sit
Terribly alone on this road
My own tears, right now, I’ll permit
Each and every single drop to flow
And the Moon dims and goes away
Ensnared by the dreary, black clouds
Words are swollen with nothing to say
While the heart bleeds making no sound
Even the silence too is down-hearted
Hearing tear drops play like a song
Curious about why I’ve started
To let Sorrow here come along
The lonely feeling tears apart
This, how will I ever endure?
I look helpless as I depart
Without a drop of love assured

A hug beside me! — I was startled
With an umbrella in hand you smile
I fear you think me unlovable
Yet you hold me closely for a while
A friend in need is a friend indeed
I’m just glad to know you’re there
You walk with me taking the lead
As the night clears the heavy air
My eyes then dry. Are you a dream?
‘Cause warmth I can see around me hover
You take my hand, press my heart, you feel real
And with it painful moments lower
The starry sky tastes really sweet
Seeing a light with us that protects
Never to wither nor part we’ll be
I know you’re the friend heaven sent
sometimes when we're reaching out to one we think a loved one they pull away and the hug of a true friend has much more meaning at that moment. Great piece!
You certainly know what you are feeling and such a beautifully written piece. You have balanced the sadness and the happiness from the opening to the ending. Absolutely touching!

Beautiful! Thx for sharing Adam! (Hugs) - Shaketa Copelin
If you're alone,
I'll be your shadow.
If you want to cry,
I'll be your shoulder.
If you want a hug,
I'll be your pillow.
If you need to be happy,
I'll be your smile.
But anytime you need a friend,
I'll just be me.
Hello Adam :)
Beautiful Poem! :*

I like how you describe your feeling of total sadness and then contrast with a serendipitous moment. A tender, sensitive, touching piece. Thanks for sharing.
